| dc.description.abstract | Die Problemstellungen der EDV-Unterstützung des Umweltbereichs in der Öffentlichen Verwaltung erfordern den Einsatz objektorientierter Methoden des Entwurfs, der Datenhaltung und der Programmentwicklung. Bei der Stadt Wien sind zur Zeit mehrere Projekte in Entwicklung, aus denen Erfahrungen in diesem Gebiet gewonnen werden konnten, unter anderem das Wiener Umweltinformationssystem (WUIS), über die berichtet wird Vor allem der Raumbezug umweltrelevanter Datenverarbeitung bedarf in bezug auf den Einsatz der EDV und der Verknüpfung tabellarischer und räumlicher Daten besonderer Überlegungen und spezieller, innovativer Lösungen. The city administration is forced to compile and use an ever-increasing amount of environmental data. The City of Vienna's Environmental Information System (WUIS) is an integrated system of applications, tailor-made to collect, administer, retrieve and present environmental data from a variety of sources under one uniform interface (environmental data warehouse). The dual character of factual data on the one hand, which are stored in tables, and geographical data on the other hand, which are administered in special nonrelational systems (a kind of layer structure with geometrical and topological features) is a considerable challenge for the system. Special, innovative methods used for modelling the data and the use of a set of functions linking up factual data and GIS data have allowed the development of an easy to use interface. | de |
