This contribution describes experiences gained with the practical application of the OGC Sensor Observation Service (SOS) standard for reporting air quality information of member states to the European Environment Agency (EEA). It is not only shown how the member states are enabled to fulfil environmental reporting obligations but it is also explained how the EEA is able to benefit from the use of the SOS interface.de
