dc.description.abstract | In cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth (BMFSFJ), our Human-Centered Engineering and Design (HCED) department was commissioned to investigate how artificial intelligence (AI) can support the gender equality-oriented regulatory impact assessment (RIA), which aims to strengthen equal rights for men and women in Germany and work towards eliminating existing disadvantages. Our poster gives an insight into the project’s progress. It presents the innovative low-fidelity prototype based on the “E-Gesetzgebung”, a platform for the electronic legislative process. Our prototype provides legislators with AI-generated context-related text suggestions during the RIA process and offers an initial assessment of the potential impacts and possible mitigation measures. Through this automation of knowledge management, our solution aims to improve the efficiency and quality of the equality-oriented RIA and thus contribute to promoting gender equality in legislation. If developed and integrated into the “E-Gesetzgebung”, we expect our approach to increase RIA executions and create a higher degree of relevance and impact in promoting gender equality in German legislation. Due to generative AI’s versatility, the system could even be extended to other RIAs, enabling support in assessing the impact of other topics and goals declared by the German government. | en |
