dc.description.abstractBesides environmental additionality, contribution to sustainable development is a major criterion to be directed to projects aiming at reducing greenhouse gas emissions under the regime of flexible instruments. However, whereas various methodologies have been suggested on how to measure additionality of projects, sustainability of projects is onl y paid minor attention to. This may be explained by the multi dimensions and, consequently, by methodological problems with measuring sustainability, for instance. In this context, this paper presents an approach to integrating sustainability criteria into project assessment. The approach is based on an optimising energy and materials flow model which takes into account economic, ecological as well as social factors.de
