dc.description.abstractInteracting with clay offers creative, intuitive, and playful ways to generate 3D objects and sceneries. This paper explores an approach to interact with an AI image generator tool by providing a clay-based tangible sculpting prototype. In our work, we explore whether a clay-based input mechanism improves the user experience, the creative process, as well as the feeling of control and authorship when interacting with generative image generators. This workshop paper presents our prototype for "Sculpting Images", the concept for a planned user study, and first insights from early informal prototype tests. Our work contributes to the discussion of how users can use generative AI as a creative tool to express themselves and feel like a (co-)creator of the results.en
