Zusammenfassung

The field of artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly evolving, bringing significant changes and challenges to communities, businesses, and individuals. Engaging local communities and businesses in this transformative process is essential for designing fair and trustworthy AI and for creating innovative training and qualification programs. Participatory approaches, such as interactive discussions and hands-on experiences, are crucial for enhancing the understanding and acceptance of AI technologies. We have developed a set of participatory methods to be applied at community events and scientific festivals to reach a diverse audience. The participatory approach is part of a larger project that aims to combine regional AI development and application with training and qualification. Prominent among the methods are prompting quests, which invite local community members to engage with generative AI by completing tasks of varying difficulty and evaluating their results. By applying principles of active engagement and social interaction, we aim to involve community members and business partners in our AI project, to foster their commitment, and to facilitate a broad availability of AI knowledge as well as easy and fair access to AI benefitss.
