Zusammenfassung
The EU is planning to increase the significance of renewable energy sources. In this context it is important to understand the decision making behavior of farmers regarding investments in renewable energy systems which generate energy from biomass. Therefore, we have confronted farmers with a hypothetical opportunity to invest in a biogas plant. It turned out that - besides risk aversion - the investment decision is significantly affected by bounded rationality.
