dc.description.abstract | For many years, the public has shown an increased interest in environmental matters. The growing awareness of natural and man-made hazards, environmental pollution and unknown industrial emissions near residential areas has led to common questions concerning the state of the environment. This paper describes the legal framework for public access to environmental information and discusses the situation in Switzerland, where an existing national metadata catalogue for environmental data could become a central portal to the required data. | de |
