dc.description.abstractThis paper describes an approach how an Industrial Environmental Information System (IEIS) can be combined with adiscret event simulation model. The simulation model was built up using software components for storage systems which were developed in our working group. In addition we equipped our model with a COM-interface consisting of a run method, some other methods to set simulation run time parameters and to pass the simulation results to the IEIS. As an example this paper deals with the simulation of a storage system and shows how a change of the order policy of a store can result in fewer emissions as well as in fewer costs. These information can be used for tactical and strategic decision management purposes.de
