dc.description.abstractA large part of environmental impacts is caused by consumer’s products throughout their life-cycle, from extraction to production, transportation, consumption and final disposal. Good product information is the backbone needed for a real global market for products manufactured in the framework of sustainability. The DEPUIS project (Design of Environmental-friendly Products Using Information Standards) aims to promote the use of existing standards in order to adopt the life-cycle thinking in design and manufacture of products. The e-learning method used in the DEPUIS Project aims to introduce the new technology of data representation by standardised information models Product Data Technologyand to show how the use of these models can support data on environmental impacts, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Ecodesign.de
