- KonferenzbeitragThe information technology method for the monitoring of the potentially hazardous objects(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Serebrovsky, Alexander N.The method of monitoring at the potentially hazardous objects is described. The situation (the state of the object and its environment) is determined by the set of independent factor values that influence the probabilities of the specific types of hazard. The method is based on the monitoring function that characterizes the degree of situation abnormalities. It allows to rank the situations according to the hazard degree. The adjustment of the monitoring session provides the possibility to control the process of preliminary assessment. As a result, the general efficiency of the Automated System for Checking, Analysis, and Prevention of Accidents can be enhanced due to the separation of the normal and quasi-normal situations. That would allow the users to concentrate their attention on the extreme situations and on the suspect situations, which could turn into the extreme ones.
- KonferenzbeitragApplication of Java-technologies for simulation in the web(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Kazymyr, Volodymyr; Demshevska, NataliyaIn this article, the visual Internet-oriented Java-based E-net Simulation System (JESS) is considered. JESS supports all the simulation stages from constructing the models to experimenting with them. The basis of JESS is an object-oriented formal model and a specification language that supports several levels of model description with an E-net specification. The Internet-orientation of the system allows to create models executed on a remote server and makes these models available from any point of the network. This article contains descriptions of the JESS simulation technique and the implementation of its Internet properties.
- KonferenzbeitragMultiple criteria project selection based on contradictory sorting rules(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Petrovsky, Alexey B.This paper considers the techniques for selecting a collection of projects which are estimated by several experts with many qualitative criteria and sorted beforehand into some classes by diverse individual sorting rules. These tools are based on the theory of multiset metric spaces and allow to generate classes of such objects and define a general classification rule which approximates the set of contradictory sorting rules.
- KonferenzbeitragEducation and technology transfer in informational fields as the part of globalization process(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Makarenko, Alexander S.It is discussed some educational and research aspects connected with informational technologies. Automation and control educational problems are considered. The issues of practical interest for Ukraine and Europe research and technological development discussed. Some new models with associative memory property are described. The description of new speciality ‘social informatics’ is proposed as the example of implementing the post-industrial society needs.
- KonferenzbeitragTeaching&learning e-business in the Ukraine(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Kovtunets, VolodymyrThe paper is devoted to the problem of teaching e-business in Ukrainian universities. We would like to answer the question: is there a need for an e-business degree in Ukraine? The answer is affirmative. E-business degree curriculum based on current degrees and courses is proposed. Some ways of introducing e-business skills training are discussed.
- KonferenzbeitragAn enterprise financial state estimation based on data mining(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Godlevsky, Mikhail D.; Orekhov, Sergey V.This paper is concerned with the data mining application to business process automation. A short tutorial on stages of financial analysis of an enterprise is given. A brief description of data mining components for financial analysis of an enterprise is presented in the paper. The main element of data mining application is fuzzy neural system. The structure of fuzzy neural system includes linguistic variable "financial state", neural network and fuzzy rules. The fuzzy neural system forms the financial state estimation based on balance sheets from dataware house of an enterprise. The data mining application has been realized as software in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. The software was applied to estimation of financial state of Kharkov (Ukrainian) enterprises in 1999. Finally, the set of enterprises for investment was found.
- KonferenzbeitragThe methodology of distributed technological complex system simulation(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Fedorovich, O.Ye.; Prohorov, A.V.; Ramirez, ThomasThe simulation of technological process in the oil pipelines system is considered in the paper. The solution of the task meets a number of difficulties originating during control and operation of distributed technological complexes (TC). One of main features is the taking into consideration numerous disturbances of objective and subjective character. The structure of system simulation model of distributed complex of oil production activity, waste-handling and haul is proposed. The detailed representation of structure and processes taking place in the TC, and also external environment that intensifies model adequacy and enables to obtain objective enough and authentic results close to reality.
- KonferenzbeitragAn approach to dynamic ontology modification in mediator service-oriented information systems(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Keberle, Natalya; Ermolayev, VadimThe paper proposes the approach to cope with the maintenance of dynamically changing resource ontologies of autonomously maintained, distributed, heterogeneous, wrapped information resources and their mappings to common mediator IS ontology. The approach intends to do the work in economical way reducing efforts to matching and aligning only modified ontology elements. Proposed is ontology model comprising both descriptive part and the set of modification primitives for each ontology structural element. The set of ontology modification invariants and the corresponding set of modification conflicts resolution rules are formulated for taxonomies. The way to provide IS services for ontology changes monitoring, matching and alignment is outlined.
- KonferenzbeitragDistributed objects performance optimization and modeling(Information Systems Technology and its Applications, international conference ISTA'2001, 2001) Juric, Matjaz B.; Rozman, Ivan; Hericko, Marjan; Welzer, Tatjana; Gyorkos, JozsefThis paper is focused on the performance analysis, comparison and optimization of distributed object middleware for Java 2: RMI (Remote Method Invocation), CORBA IDL (Interface Definition Language) and RMI-IIOP (Remote Method Invocation on Internet Inter-ORB Protocol). The paper presents the following contributions to the research on distributed object performance. First, a detailed performance analysis is provided with the comparison. These results help to understand how the models perform. Second, an overhead analysis has been done, which explains why there are differences in performance. Third, optimizations and improved performance for RMI-IIOP and CORBA IDL are presented. These show considerably better performance in all areas compared to the original versions.
