- KonferenzbeitragActive documents supporting knowledge sharing in knowledge- intensive cooperation(6th Conference on Professional Knowledge Management – From Knowledge to Action, 2011) Trögl, Mathias; Maier, RonaldAs the knowledge perspective has become more important and knowledge has been accepted as a resource with ever increasing importance for an organization's success, it has also changed the views on cooperation. Working in partnerships focused on supporting each other in creating and sharing knowledge seems to be an efficient way to reduce costs and enable synergistic effects. This has given rise to the knowledge-intensive cooperation as a special kind of cooperation. A huge amount of transferred knowledge in this kind of cooperation are shared, e.g., by transferring electronic documents. Today, organizations have the choice of a considerable number of knowledge management instruments to support humans to overcome timeor spatial-based barriers concerning knowledge transfer. These instruments can be bundled into complex enterprise knowledge infrastructure (EKI)1 suites. However, these have an organizational focus and are rarely prepared for knowledge that crosses organizational boundaries. Taking into account the considerable efforts for establishing EKIs, start up of an EKI specifically for knowledge-intensive cooperation is expensive, takes a lot of time and, in case of a network of multiple and changing partners, often is infeasible. The goal of this article is offering the concept of active documents as a way to overcome restrictions of EKI in knowledge sharing between organizational boundaries in knowledge-intensive cooperation. Using active documents makes it easy to start document-based knowledge sharing based on a more client perspective. Additionally it offers comfortable possibilities for automatic integration of those documents into a server based EKI in the future.

Hierzu zählen bspw. die Innovationsfähigkeit und Technologieexpertise. Im Zusammenschluss zu kooperierenden Netzwerken begegnen sie diesen Herausforderungen. Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien sind dabei ein entscheidender Treiber, wobei neue Web 2.0- Technologien eine große Rolle spielen. In diesem Zusammenhang relevant ist die Evaluation der zu etablierenden Technologien und Anwendungen im Hinblick auf Akzeptanz und Benutzung. Ziel dieses Beitrages ist es daher, eine anerkannte Theorie, die Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, in den Anwendungskontext zu adaptieren und anzupassen. Das im Ergebnis entstehende Modell kann künftigen empirischen Untersuchungen als Grundlage dienen.

In a first stage the framework is explained and the case study where the framework is assessed is described. At the end it is evaluated if the framework helps to identify strengths and weaknesses which can be exploited to improve knowledge maturing in an organisation.

We describe how such intelligent technologies can be used for implementing applications in small and medium sized enterprises by introducing a realized application. The application is called dinerplus and organizes guests and menus for a hobby chef, restaurant or catering service. Further we discuss related work on the aspect of experience management in SMEs using intelligent systems.

At the same time, Competency Management is more and more moving towards a tight integration with business and knowledge management frameworks, having a crucial role in business process re-engineering, giving to competencies a central role to achieve higher performance variance, determine better return-on-investment or economic value of competency initiatives, implementing deep organizational transformation, and change market and organizational strategies. Our approach, taking inspiration from Technology Roadmaps, proposes the Competency Roadmap to Strategy, an integrated model for organizing the competency bouquet of a company in coordination with strategic desing of business activities.

This paper connects the emergence of intuition as a product of tacit knowledge processing. It deals mainly with the question whether or not intuition is a suitable instrument to base a decision on. It shows that cultural differences play an important role in the process. By comparing some fields of practices of intuitive decision making this paper suggests some parameters that focus on the relevant exploitation of intuitive decision making.

Focus on an Italian aerospace company, Alenia Aeronautica, the paper wants to illustrate the use of set theory in order to represent objects, rules and indexes of the competence management methodology. This mathematical formalism allows to easily represent the complexity of this context and to guide the implementation of a future competence management system (CMS). In addition, the use of an algebraic approach allows the implementation of a competence management information system that may be customized to any industrial context. In addition, this flexible structure can be easily modified to respond to a continuously changing competence scenario related to the business environment.
